    What We Do

Hope House is … an Emergency Aid Center … a Food Pantry … a Thrift Store.

Located in Lake Ozark, Missouri, Hope House helps hundreds of needy families every month with food, clothing, and emergency aid. We serve eastern Camden County from State Road KK east through Osage Beach and Lake Ozark, the North Shore around to Rocky Mount, halfway to Eldon, and the remainder of Miller County.

Twenty percent of these families are helped only one time. Operating expenses are furnished primarily by supporting churches and hundreds of volunteers from a growing number of Lake-area churches provide manpower. Hope House needs additional support, however, to meet the growing needs of the community.

    Emergency Aid Center

We help those who are homeless, those who are physically, emotionally and spiritually sick, and those who need encouragement to rise above the conditions in which they currently live. Hope House primarily provides assistance with food, but also assists with emergency needs, such as utilities, medicine, medical care, car parts, bus fare, gas to get to a doctor or work, diapers and temporary housing for the homeless. Energy assistance from Ameren UE’s “Dollar More” program is very helpful.

    Food Pantry

Food is provided to the residents in our service area who meet the guidelines set by the Central Missouri Food Bank of Columbia and Hope House board of directors. Proceeds from the Thrift Store are our main source for stocking Hope House’s food pantry. The Central Missouri Food Bank also assists in stocking the food pantry, supplemented by food drives organized by individuals, local churches, civic and youth organizations and local merchants. Hope House also receives generous assistance from local grocers, i.e. HyVee, Paul’s and Walmart.

    Thrift Store

Generous area individuals and merchants donated food, clothing and household items to start Hope House’s thrift store in 2002. Today, the monies generated in the thrift store are used to stock the food pantry, provide emergency, short-term financial aid to needy families in the area. Clothing, shoes and household necessities such as small kitchen items and bedding are furnished to those in need without charge. The Hope House Thrift Store is open to the general public.

    Our Mission:
To offer hope and short term help to those in need within our community as an expression of Christ’s love and care!

An emergency aid center serving Missouri’s eastern Camden and western Miller counties, Hope House provides a helping hand to hundreds families in need each month. Of these families, 20 percent are helped only one time.
